Among the creatures sought by Marco Polo on his travels was the unicorn. When he encountered the Rhinoceros he sent back the good news and the bad news. It had one horn was but more likely to wallow in slime and mud than the laps of fair maidens.
This set of paintings reinterprets the tapestry of the senses.
