Here are some photos of a mosaic seating project that I did called Landmark Trees for Queenslands’s 150th celebrations. It was a joint project with Queensland Govenment and Brisbane Council.
The seating was set within view and among a grove of Silky oak and Hoop Pines, which will grow to great heights in the future. The theme was Past, Present and Future. All the images were designed and made by the school students. There were 15 schools in all. Jo Armytage and Cate Collopy were the other artists I worked with on this project. The 5 schools that I worked with were Calamvale Special School, Runcorn State HIgh, Yeronga State HIgh, Oakleigh State School and Junction Park State School.Artists Jennifer Hamilton and Sharon Lees helped me with facilitating the artwork and workshops and transferring it onto panels for the seating.
