spanish angels

An unexpected trip to Spain photographing angels. They adorn entranceways, advertisements, fountains, friezes and fabric, background to battles between beliefs. They hold signs, halos, palm leaves and announce narratives to the tales they are background to. They are paraded through the streets, made of bronze, stone, steel, plaster, paint and textile. Some battle darker angel forms. Pigeons perch on their heads and shoulders and roost in the naves that they have been set into.
