A Flying Arts trip to Maryborough to facilitate a Shibori and resist dye workshop. Maryborough is a delightful historic town and once was a major port. It has a thriving arts community, and we worked in Gatakers Art Space that has recently become a printmaking studio. It was a workshop exploring resist techniques, and a highlight was mixing an indigo dye bath, watching the cloth change to rich deep blues as it oxidises in the air.
