solstice lantern parade

Every year people gather for celebration, music, organic food, art and ceremony at Northey St city farm for the winter solstice gathering. This year I was invited to do lantern making for the lantern parade. Before the festival we made some sculptural lanterns, and at the festival I prepared some small equilateral pyramid lanterns for the crowd to make. When the lanterns were assembled everyone took them to Bob Mud to paint with magical mud designs and colours. The activity was so popular that after it finished I set up a little table near my market stall so people  could gather sticks to sculpt more lanterns. Some photos from the day.
