I visited Emerald,  one of my favourite outback towns, for a Flying Arts tour. Emerald is a historic town. It has a grand Queenslander style railway station and a welcoming botanical garden, popular with travellers. I flew in on a countrylink flight for a very short visit. I was there to run a workshop in Manga art Zines for art educators. Art educators give an enormous amount of time and energy to the art room. For many students the best part of going to school is the peace and creativity of the art room. This workshop allowed a very skilled group of dedicated teachers to develop work of their own, share ideas and learn some new processes.
